So I finally actually went cross country here at Warner. Naturally ended up in Palm Springs. It could have been avoided, but learning this weather and soaring for out here is far different than what i know in Texas. Either way I had a total blast! Most of the flight was spent at 10,000 feet or higher, and was fun to fly with so many gliders. Scratched around Palm Springs while talking to tower, they were great and helped and worked traffic around me while I tried to thermal away, but had to land since nothing was working and the >100 degrees in the cockpit after half an hour was starting to get to me. Landed, pushed glider to Atlantic Aviation, sat in A/C and drank water, Keith came to get me in 180. Took off, aerotow home, land, derig, and order pizza for the staff at Palm Springs for a thank you gesture. Lots learned, ready for next time! (Hopefully avoiding a landout next time if possible...)
