Was trying for a long OLC flight so launched early with an ambitious task - far S, then far N, then NW, hoping for 600k+. It was not to be. Most of the forecast info was overly optimistic. Dribbled south into the wind early counting on streeting but it didn't work very well (ave speed first leg was less than 40mph). Dribbled N with a tailwind, still not much streeting and thermals were hard to work and less than 4000 ft. At the end of the second leg had a blistering speed of 48 mph. Never was able to pick it up much from there. Abandoned the ambitious task and just wimped out and chased the better looking clouds, most of which didn't work very well. Nonetheless it was a very nice day with light winds, cu's, and lots of pretty scenery, much of it viewed up close.
