Noah and I signed up for team training and today was a great training day! We launched at 11am and floated down to the Susquehanna River and the Blairstown ridges. They worked pretty well and we had a great run to Fairview Lake. From there, we worked our way upwind, toward Harris Hill. This worked out considerably worse than we expected because the wind was very strong (23 knots or so) and the thermals were torn up. We really struggled across the Pocono Plateau, averaging 27 mph for 62 miles.

At 4:45pm, the day was starting to die out and we started heading the 106 miles home. The conditions were falling apart and we couldn't stay on the north side of the Alleghany plateau as we intended. We struggled the whole way to Williamsport, just barely scratching along. Team flying worked well for us there.

Once at Williamsport, the ridge kicked on and we floated on home in the "evening magic". The wind was quite northerly and it was weakening the farther south we went. So we stayed high and slid on home.

We have done about 15 hours of flying together in two days. And there's more flying ahead!! What a blast!

Thanks a million to Aero Club Albatross and Harris Hill Soaring Corporation for letting us fly their club ships toward team training!
