Yesterday's big dilemma: to fly the ridge at the Bergstrasse or to fly the wave at the Pfalzer Wald. The satellite images were showing wave all morning and the wind seemed to channel parallel to the ridge in the valley, so I decided to give it a try in the wave. After a tow under the clouds in the Rheintal I finally released at 1100m when the air felt laminar and my vario was showing +4. From there, trying to follow the cloud structures was not easy, as it was not a defined line and I was following a labirinth. My vario was sometimes indicating lift, but not for long times, and climbing in that was impossible. The flight did not last long, as I fell soon out from the sky and had to outland. Nevertheless, still learned a few things, and had a good time.
Matthias, thank you for the help! Tobi, thanks for the welcome at Weinheim, Finn and Oli for the good time, tips and help with the retrieve. Udo, thank you for the super tow.
Karin, thank you for joining me again, and for the retrieve.
