Very nice flight for the fall equinox. Scattered cu marked most thermals in the Antelope Valley and later the southern Sierras. Declared Mt Piños, Mt Baldy Sacatar and return. Set up large turn areas to let me go deep (or short) as needed. Mountains around Crystal / Baldy were all blue with nice cu marking the shear line, so decided to glide across the Cajon Pass and try for Big Bear. Turned a few miles short but high as it was a bit late and I wanted to make it to Sacatar. Got clearance from Joshua to cross R2515 as I followed clouds through there. Very windy on the Sierra crest was tearing up the thermals around Owens Peak and north, so I turned short of 9 Mile to avoid getting blown into the valley. Got a bit low in Dove Springs Pass before connecting with a nice climb to cloudbase and an easy glide home.
